Banana helps prevent colon cancer

Therefore, students of National Polytechnic Institute they made a investigation to contribute to prevention.

Within this, the plantain, a fruit that thanks to its nutrients helps prevent colon cancer, so they decided to offer them in the form of bread and pasta, made with immature male banana, because it is a way to take advantage of the starch that it contains when it is in its greenish stage.

The researcher Osorio Díaz mentions that a portion of the plantain can produce fatty acids and digestive enzymes, which have the function of regulating the rate of glucose and cholesterol level.

> “It has a low impact on the glycemic response, which is the amount of glucose that enters the blood after consuming the food, which is measured through the glycemic index and allows classifying them, as well as foresee their impact on the organism”, says the expert.

In sum, the compounds of the pulp made by the IPN, such as antioxidants, potassium, magnesium and vitamin B6 function as dietary fiber, something that benefits the work of the colon and could prevent the appearance of cancer.

On the other hand, the male banana is a versatile fruit that can be eaten raw or cooked, when green almost all its content is starch and, therefore, flour is used to make food that can be consumed by people with restricted diets , like diabetics and celiacs, as well as those who suffer from obesity, overweight and constipation.
